Steak Marination 101
Ingredients:
Coca Cola (1-2 cans depending on amount of meat you need to marinate, Olive Oil, Garlic, Lemon or Lime Juice, Salt and Pepper. (Rum can also be added)
Coke's acids and sugars (you know this stuff can't be good for your teeth) are excellent marinates. After adding the coke to a pan, dish or large ziploc bag, add the other ingredients, I am never exact when doing this so here are a approximate amounts for 1 lb of steak.
1 can of coke
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons crushed garlic
2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice (better if squeezed from fresh fruit)
1 tablespoon salt (you should re salt meat before grilling also)
1 tablespoon pepper
The longer you can marinate the meat the better. Coke does wonders especially for cheaper cuts of meat. I particularly like to use it for skirt steak which is cheap, but with this marinate delicious.
